PGS Junior Scholarship Programme
Winners announced! - click here to read about the first ten scholarships awarded.
The aim of the Scholarship Programme is to identify raw talent and give the kids chosen all the resources they need to fulfil their potential.
It is designed to be an addition to our YMG classes, giving the scholars further opportunity to develop their physical and mental skills as well as their golf. It is a pioneering coaching programme using the LTAD (Long term athlete development) principles for nurturing skill.
The Programme will be very rewarding for kids that have not only the raw skills, but also the right attitude for improvement. As with all our coaching, we will foster an ideal learning environment which is fun and relaxed. Making mistakes is part of the learning process and we will encourage the kids involved to taking on new challenges as they progress.
Our first batch of kids will be picked from the 8-12 years age range as this is a key stage in the physical development of a child, and one where the right coaching will make the biggest difference long term. It is also an age where developing a broad range of skills is extremely beneficial, so our scholars will be doing a lot more than swinging a golf club!
Although these coaching principles have been adopted by several other successful sporting nations, Premium Golf Schools is the first golf academy to do so in Britain. As we progress throughout the year, we will be offering these “talent-building” methods to all our golfers.
